Reading with context

Follow a claim from its question to its evidence, example and limits before deciding how it applies.

Question first

Begin with the decision the page is meant to support. A broad planning guide needs a different treatment from a definition or a calculation. The title and opening should establish that purpose before the reader commits to a long explanation.

A source is selected for the statement it can support. Being authoritative in general does not mean it answers this particular question. Population, ingredient, method, timing and measured outcome can all affect relevance.

Trace the example

A practical example should let the reader follow each important quantity. The starting value, operation and result need to agree with the prose. If a tool rounds a pack count or assumes a particular ingredient state, that condition should remain visible.

Examples can clarify a model without prescribing a personal decision. A recipe multiplier does not establish cooking time; a unit-cost comparison does not choose the product a household should prefer. The useful limit is the one that changes interpretation.

Compare versions

Source controls separate references, their use and the article's version information. Public digests help identify whether content or image bytes match a recorded version. They do not independently establish who created the work, when it was created or who owns it.

When a factual correction changes a guide, its connected explanations and discovery text need to remain consistent. A newer-looking page should not silently preserve the old mistake in its example or summary.

Reader questions

A reader may notice the missing condition that a general check did not reveal. Report the specific statement, the uncertainty and any relevant public source. Disagreement alone does not establish an error, but a clear account makes the question assessable.
